Dunmore Carnival 1959

This is a particularly interesting poster from 1959, just around the time when orchestras were becoming showbands. Note that seven of the eight bands are described as orchestras while only one, 'J.J. Flynn and his Show Band, featuring Dixieland, Calypso and Skiffle Groups' have dropped the 'orchestra' tag. They were soon to be known as the Johnny Flynn Showband.
