The Vibratones (Belfast)

"Hello, my name is George Parker (formerly Lee Parker) and my group was The Vibratones. Our manager was an English man, Horace Champion. We had a saxophone player, Denis, who joined us when we were playing dances to give us a bigger sound. We were formed in Belfast by myself and Billy Naylor and if my memory serves me right, we ran from 1960 until 1964. Although we toured and played all over Ireland, we were mostly found in and around Belfast. We played the Plaza Ballroom with Brian Rossi and Betty Staffs, both on a regular basis. We performed on shows with Van Morrison and his group and on Ulster Television with Dusty Springfield. We also did radio shows for Radio Eireann and toured with Kenny Lynch, Tommy Roe and Big Dee Irwin."
